Karnik is not your average cat and dog boarding facility. Our roots trace back to 1973 with a single dog kennel in the country and an ideal: to provide the absolute best boarding care available. That commitment propelled us forward and since 1973, we have opened up two additional locations–one in Toledo, Ohio and another in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Our owner, Ray Bauman, is an expert in the field, has earned the CKO title, and has been recognized for the exceptional care he provides for pets. Using his expertise in the dog boarding industry, he designed Karnik Pet Lodges to offer comfortable, spacious accommodations for each guest. Built with the highest standards in the industry, Karnik has become a symbol of superior pet care in the northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan areas, serving the greater Toledo and Ann Arbor areas.
Karnik has three locations—Fallen Timbers, Central Avenue, and Maple Village—each of which offer their own, unique charm.
We are proud of our facilities and encourage you to come for a tour during our regular business hours to see all that Karnik has to offer you and your cherished pets. From our atrium with natural lighting, to our large dog suites and spacious catteries, our accommodations were designed with your pets' needs and wishes in mind.
Ray Bauman, owner of Karnik Pet Lodges, raced sled dogs in the ‘70s and ‘80s and he showed dogs prior to that. During those years, his two favorite dogs were Kara and Nikki. To honor their friendship and loyalty, their names were combined to form "Karnik," a promise of our goal to offer the same friendship and loyalty to each of our guests.
Our facilities are backed by a wonderful and outgoing group of people. To meet your pets' friends and future friends, please come visit the Karnik Pet Lodge nearest you and say hello! You may also click on the link below to view individual bios on the staff members at each location:
